John Hall

John Hall grew up outside the city of Boston, graduating from St. John’s High School in 1999. His adventurous side and love of skiing took him west to the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2003. John began his career in the financial services industry this same year, working in institutional money management with Fidelity Investments at their corporate headquarters in Boston, MA. Here he worked primarily with large endowment and university funds. Upon moving to Seattle in 2005 to fulfill his dream of living on the west coast, John spent 2 years working in in the wholesale mortgage space with Greenpoint Mortgage. His desire to work in private family wealth started when he received an opportunity to join Morgan Stanley in 2007. Here he began working with business owners, retirees, non-profit organizations, and corporate executives. In 2013, he was recruited and moved his practice to Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. In his personal life, John married Hillary Hall, a Washington native and U.W. Husky, in a beautiful ceremony on New Year’s Eve. They have a home in Kirkland where they try to keep up with their energetic one-and-a-half year old daughter named Hadley, as well as an 11-year-old boxer named Cassius. The Halls enjoy many of the joys of living in the Pacific Northwest including skiing and hiking, as well as playing golf and tennis. In addition, the Halls enjoy working in the non-profit world, where John was previously on the board of directors for Cancer Research and Biostatistics, an organization that is key in the analytics of cancer research around the world. John also spent time building homes in Haiti after the earthquakes severely impacted the island.
I follow the deep-seated Merrill tradition of participating in the communities we serve. This drives my interest in spending time volunteering with organizations in our community.
