Brian Marcinek is a Managing Director and Private Wealth Manager with the Marcinek Group at Merrill Private Wealth Management. With over 28 years of banking, investment and asset-management experience, Brian advises individuals, families, foundations and endowments throughout the Pacific Northwest on a variety of matters. He combines an intuitive understanding of people and their priorities with in-depth knowledge of portfolio construction, credit and liquidity strategies, trust and estate planning services, wealth transfer strategies, and access to banking services through Bank of America.
As a seasoned professional and team leader, Brian is motivated to optimize outcomes for the clients he serves. He is equally adept in strategy and implementation, pursuing client objectives through a relentless focus on execution and delivering value. His background and experience provide him with a distinctive perspective on the opportunities and challenges that significant wealth can entail. Prior to joining Merrill, Brian spent more than nine years with J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where he led a wealth management team catering to the needs of ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. His career also includes nine years working in various capacities with a local, multi-billionaire family office. His roles included Principal and CFO of Eagle River Investments (a venture capital and private equity firm), CFO of COM Investments and Treasurer of a private family foundation. Earlier in his career, he gained valuable experience in investment banking with J.P. Morgan in New York, as well as business strategy consulting with Andersen, now Accenture. He earned his B.S. in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University.
Brian is a trustee of Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation and a long-time supporter of Friends of the Children, a non-profit that provides mentoring services to at-risk children. Previously, he served on the advisory board for SEEYOURIMPACT.com, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing social entrepreneurism. Brian also volunteers on the Finance Committee and Teachers Retirement Committee for St. Thomas School.
Brian lives in Medina with his wife, Malissa, and their daughters, Milan and Gray. He is a member of Overlake Country Club and the Arlington Club in Portland. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with his family outdoors, cooking, and savoring fine wine.
