I have been in the financial services industry since 1983. I began as an assistant on a bond trading desk and worked my way up to being a managing director for a bond firm. I decided to move to Vermont to raise my family and am happily married and raising our two sons in Burlington.
I strongly believe that each family is different. Financially and socially everyone comes from a different background. And all of the families I deal with have different goals with their financial lives.
Every family is looked at from the top down. Assets and liabilities are regularly analyzed. Keeping costs down is as important as minimizing losses.
I build balanced portfolios for clients. This includes having an Equity to bond ratio that is appropriate to each family. It also includes building equity portfolios that are not over or under weighted in certain sectors without the investors knowing why. Bond portfolios are scrutinized for interest rate risk as well as credit risk.
Every client is important. The responsibility of advising on a persons financial life , is not one that I take lightly. The relationships I build with my clients are cherished. I enjoy getting to know each family in a deeper way. Providing families with solid service and helping out in every way possible way is how I run my business. These relationships are the most rewarding part of my work. I look forward to these relationships growing.
I follow the deep-seated Merrill tradition of participating in the communities we serve. This drives my interest in spending time volunteering with organizations in our community.
