At Merrill Lynch Wealth Management , Ban is a Senior Vice President-Senior Financial Advisor, holds the designations of Certified Exit Planning Advisor, CEPA®, Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorTM , CRPCTM and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor®, CPFA® with a principal focus on wealth management services for affluent clients, retirees, small businesses, and non-profit organizations. He is a qualified Portfolio Manager who, in addition to providing traditional advice and guidance, can help clients pursue their objectives by building and managing his own personalized or defined strategies, which may incorporate individual stocks and bonds, Merrill model portfolios, and third-party investment strategies. When servicing clients through the firm’s Investment Advisory Program, a Portfolio Manager may manage his strategies on a discretionary basis. Together with Merrill specialists in different areas, Ban offers clients a range of services including financial strategy, retirement planning, estate planning issues, college planning and investment portfolio strategies. He is one of the senior partners of the MacNamara, Tran, Mason, Burnette, Bjorklund & Krashin Group, which focuses on managing investment portfolio using low cost, tax efficient Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) indexes. Ban graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Economics and International Relations and has a M.B.A. in International Finance from George Washington University. Ban joined the Global Wealth and Investment Management of Merrill in 1999. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, he had fifteen years of experience in trade finance, international banking and foreign exchange. Ban lives in Springfield, VA with his wife, Renee, and his two daughters, Melanie and Ashley. In his spare time, Ban serves on various community boards. He enjoys yoga, basketball, and is an avid marathon and triathlon participant.
