Jennifer Roensch is a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Tysons Corner, Virginia. Jennifer joined Merrill® in 2019 with nearly two decades of experience in investment banking and wealth management. Born and raised in Mexico and schooled in Germany, she is fluent in Spanish and German. Her diverse, international upbringing provides her with a global view of the markets and an understanding of complex economic and investing strategies.
Drawing on more than two decades of experience in the industry, an integral part of her approach is to build and enhance meaningful relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families with diverse backgrounds and complex wealth management needs. Jennifer also has the compassion and a nuanced understanding of the concerns of women who want or need to take a more active role in their finances as sole wealth earners, after divorce, or as widows. Working in conjunction with their attorneys and accountants, she can assist with wealth management strategies to help her clients take charge of their financial well-being, adapt to their ever-changing needs, and continue to look to the future.
Another unique focus of Jennifer’s practice is helping entrepreneurs with the entire life cycle of their business. From helping grow a business, to designing and implementing tailored retirement planning strategies for themselves and their employees, to developing tax minimization or cash management strategies, Jennifer can help strike the right balance between what is best for business owners, their families, and their employees.
With the belief that communication is the key to building strong client relationships, the foundation of Jennifer’s approach starts with listening. She asks detailed questions to learn what’s truly important to her clients and helps to uncover their feelings about where they are financially and where they hope to be in the future. What she learns becomes the foundation for creating a financial plan tailored to their unique goals and dreams. Additionally, she routinely shares investment insights with her clients to keep them abreast of her market views.
After earning her Bachelor’s degree in management in 1999 from the University of Texas, San Antonio, Jennifer returned to Mexico to begin her career in investment banking. She later moved to Heidelberg, Germany where she earned a Master’s degree in finance from Nuertingen University in 2001. Jennifer also holds the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor® (CPFA®) designation. Passionate about bringing financial education to the underserved Hispanic community, Jennifer is a board member for Bank of America’s Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership & Advancement.
Jennifer and her husband, Gerardo, currently reside in West Springfield, Virginia, where they are raising their two daughters. Away from the office, her interests include oil painting, traveling, hiking, and Flamenco dancing.
I follow the deep-seated Merrill tradition of participating in the communities we serve. This drives my interest in spending time volunteering with organizations in our community.
My mission, first and foremost, is to understand you and what matters most to you. Armed with that information I can ask thoughtful questions -- listening carefully, then understanding in detail where your wealth stands today and where you'd like it to be tomorrow. I help you design and implement a personalized plan intended to help you and your family pursue financial goals while helping manage investment risk. My approach is to focus on potential solutions that can help turn goals into reality.
