I grew up in a single parent household, and, at that time, I believed living paycheck to paycheck was the way life was supposed to be. After graduating and getting into the financial industry, I found a different way of living - a path of freedom and financial security. I am grateful for my parents who walked so I could run. Now, I work hard for local communities and business owners to start them on their own journeys of freedom and financial security.
Too many times I see people and advisors putting the proverbial horse before the cart. Imagine telling someone you're going on a trip and the first question they ask is, "How do you plan on getting there?" With almost a decade in the financial industry what I've found is the "How" can only be important when you know the "Where". Only when you know "Where" you're going can you determine "How" to get there.
