Tim Gamso

Tim Gamso is a Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill, where he provides advice and counsel to families, foundations, and endowments.  He also works extensively with corporate retirement plans.  His areas of focus are asset allocation, manager search and selection, and portfolio construction.  Mr. Gamso has worked in the capital markets since 1979.  Over his career he has worked with both institutional clients as well as private clients. 

He grew up in the Deep South, mostly in Alabama.  He attended The University of Alabama where he earned both a B.S. in Finance as well as an M.B.A.  He was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the Honorary Business Fraternity in 1977.  In addition to his academic accomplishments he remains to this day a big fan of Alabama football.
Tim is married to Susan.  They have three children – Winston (34), Harrison (32), and Kathleen (27).  He has competed in golf over the years but now plays mostly for enjoyment.  To stay involved in the game he is a USGA Rules Official and officiates both local and national amateur golf championships.  During his playing career he played in the U.S. Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur, British Amateur, and British Mid-Amateur.  Away from golf he travels, cooks, reads and plays with his golden retriever, Tua.
