Victor McLeod
Chip McLeod began his career in the financial services industry in 1993 and brings more than three decades of experience advising clients and leading within the profession. He joined Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 2007 as a Wealth Management Advisor and currently serves as Senior Resident Director of the Spartanburg Merrill office. Chip holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification, awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., and the Sports & Entertainment Accredited Wealth Management Advisor™ designation from The College for Financial Planning Institutes Corp.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from Clemson University, with minors in accounting and taxation, and has completed additional coursework at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Chip is currently pursuing a master’s degree in finance through Harvard Extension School.
In 2001, Chip was appointed by the Governor of South Carolina to the Council of Advisors on Consumer Credit, where he continues to serve. He is Past-President of the Spartanburg Estate Planning Council and the Spartanburg Philharmonic Board, President of the Spartanburg Downtown Rotary, and a former board member of the South Carolina Council on Economic Education at the Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. Chip is also a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg.
Active in his community and church, Chip serves as a Eucharistic Minister and leads annual mission trips. He is Past-Director of the Southeastern Region of the Ferrari Club of America. His personal time is spent with family at their farm, exploring the outdoors, playing the piano, and restoring classic cars.
