Marybeth Henry began her career in financial services in 1977 serving institutional clients seeking to enhance returns on pension and endowment portfolios. She managed portfolios in her former career as an institutional portfolio manager. Marybeth was also a Director of Manager Research at Salomon Smith Barney Consulting Group where she participated in selecting and reviewing money management firms.
Marybeth is driven by a desire to help investors succeed in achieving their financial objectives. As a previous client of Merrill, Marybeth was fully aware of unsurpassed research capabilities in global fixed income and currencies. Now, as an advisor to high-net-worth individuals, she is eager to allow clients to discover the treasure trove of resources at Merrill that are available for portfolios that are diversified across all asset classes. Her focus has always been to design rugged and reliable portfolios that resonate with the needs and wants of her clients.
Her practice at Merrill is focused on asset allocation strategies utilizing traditional and where appropriate, other asset classes. By following an investment discipline within the Merrill context, Marybeth assists investors in choosing their personal path to financial independence. She has developed extensive knowledge in retirement planning, especially for executives in transition who need to judiciously roll assets from a defined contribution or defined benefit plan to an IRA. Client relationships grow from intensive study and listening to formulate the best response for the individual client's benefit.
Prior to joining Merrill, Marybeth pursued an MBA in Finance at NYU Stern School of Business, graduating in 2005. While at Stern, she was privileged to publish in the Stern Journal. She is also a graduate of both the University of Southern California and Rosemont College.
*You have choices for what to do with your 401(k) or other type of plan-sponsored accounts. Depending on your financial circumstances, needs and goals, you may choose to rollover to an IRA or convert to a Roth IRA, rollover a 401(k) from a prior employer to a 401(k) at your new employer, take a distribution, or leave the account where it is. Each choice may offer different investment options and services, fees and expenses, withdrawal options, required minimum distributions, tax treatment, and provide different protection from creditors and legal judgments. These are complex choices and should be considered with care.
I follow the deep-seated Merrill tradition of participating in the communities we serve. This drives my interest in spending time volunteering with organizations in our community.
My mission, first and foremost, is to understand you and what matters most to you. Armed with that information I can ask thoughtful questions -- listening carefully, then understanding in detail where your wealth stands today and where you'd like it to be tomorrow. I help you design and implement a personalized plan intended to help you and your family pursue financial goals while helping manage investment risk. My approach is to focus on potential solutions that can help turn goals into reality.
