Why do clients come to us? Often, a previous advisor may not have “heard” what they were saying, couldn’t solve an important issue, or a client felt an advisor was too formal and never really knew them. Frankly, we do our best work for “happy” clients that can appreciate our insights, decades of experience, and most of all, our integrity. We enjoy helping clients in areas that may have little to do with “dollars and cents” – whether it’s helping an elderly client book a flight online, or helping a client’s daughter get cash out of town.
Ours is a holistic, goals-based approach to wealth management – one that helps clients identify and prioritize what’s most important. We not only ask questions of clients, but questions of ourselves: Are we helping clients manage their income and balance sheets, as well as minimize tax consequences? Are we looking at a client’s situation from multiple perspectives? Are we being fully accountable to clients and their families? These questions remind us to work diligently on each client’s behalf, as if he or she were only one.
Above all, we want clients to sleep well at night. And we want to sleep well, too – knowing we’ve done everything possible, to help structure a client’s wealth – so that positive outcomes can result in the short-term and for decades to come.
