Since joining Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 1987, Richard has become one of the firm’s most outspoken advocates of goals-based wealth management – having built a loyal following of clients, with whom he shares his perspectives and experience. Putting his philosophy into practice, Richard puts clients’ objectives and circumstances at the center of the integrated strategies he builds on their behalf through a formal wealth management based practice.
Richard assists clients with creating and implementing creative strategies designed to grow assets responsibly in up markets, while providing improved downside capture during challenging markets, so that personally meaningful life goals are not compromised. Helping clients achieve their goals is the most important aspect of his relationship and interactions.
Richard takes a fundamental driven emotion free approach that focuses on the development and implementation of creative financial strategies. He also advises on wealth structuring and pre-and post-retirement liquidity preparation, with an additional focus on risk management. For Richard, helping clients manage risk across their investments, liabilities, and financial strategy is a continual focus.
Richard holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification and the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorTM (CRPCTM) designation from the College for Financial Planning. He is a graduate of Massapequa High School and St. John’s University – Peter J. Tobin College of Business, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Richard resides in Massapequa with his wife Christine and their four children Christopher, Carly, Camryn and Cole.
