Dora brings more than three decades of rich international wealth management experience – and her natural ability for building trusted relationships – to an impressive circle of high-net-worth clients residing in the U.S. and internationally.
Like many seasoned advisors, Dora diligently formulates strategies that can improve both sides of a client’s balance sheet. But what sets Dora apart – and why she believes many clients feel so comfortable with her – is Dora’s sincere appreciation for the goals they’ve worked hard to achieve and her client-focused process that calls for friendly collaboration and casual, straightforward discussions.
Dora believes that each client’s unique situations and ambitions demand strategies as different as they are. “That’s why I customize everything,” says Dora. She also devotes significant time to educating clients – sharing her long longtime passion for risk-managed investing.
“I remind clients about volatility and diversification. Typically, their wealth is already concentrated in emerging markets – with investments in their own companies and countries. It’s in their interest to expose their liquid assets to developed markets, such as the United States. Balancing risk and opportunity is critical to preserving and meeting the multi-generational demands of their wealth,” Dora explains.
Before joining Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 1999, Dora spent 13 years at Citibank Private Bank, becoming a Vice President. After moving to the U.S at 18 years of age, she enrolled at NYU and eventually earned a degree from Baruch College. In 1982, she began her financial career in a research capacity at Banco de Brasil S.A.
A happy Manhattan resident, Dora lives just one block from Central Park and commutes downtown each day by bicycle, her favorite mode of transportation. In fact, biking has taken Dora around the world on annual treks in Guatemala, Poland and Czechoslovakia, where she love exploring local cultures and meeting people. Dora has one daughter and two grandchildren.
