Brian M. Sheehan believes that the two most important elements of his business are personal relationships and communication. He works closely with clients and their families to gain knowledge, build trust and establish realistic expectations. Clients appreciate that he is active in their community and share their devotion to family, children and helping those in need. He is committed to keeping clients informed and answering every question with candor and clarity. Brian began his financial services career in the operations area at Merrill and believes that this experience enables him to help clients understand the administrative and reporting process and avoid operational problems.
Brian works with individuals who are retired or near retirement-including a large number of corporate executives, police and firefighters- and also with retirement plans and non-profit organizations. His approach begins with the development of a personalized strategy that reflects the client's unique financial goals and aspirations. After conducting a thorough information gathering and risk assessment initiative, he works with the client to produce a detailed wealth management strategy that addresses issues such as retirement planning, education planning, insurance, long-term care and investment objectives. To strengthen his knowledge in this area he obtained the prestigious Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM designation from the College for Financial Planning.
To Brian, investing is a process, not an event. He believes that asset allocation and rebalancing are critical in constructing and maintaining an investment portfolio that reflects each client's time horizon, risk tolerances and goals. Utilizing the world-class research and investment platforms provided by Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Brian develops customized, diversified investment portfolios that invest assets with select money managers. On an ongoing basis, he works with clients to educate them on what they are investing in and why.
Brian began his career with Merrill in April 1985. He attended Regis High School and NYU School of Business and Public Administration on full academic scholarships. Brian enjoys getting involved in the community. He is currently a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and is an active member of St. Brigid's Parish(Westbury). He is also on the advisory board of The Irish Studies Institute at Molloy College (Rockville Centre). Brian is also the Vice President of the Central Nassau Athletic Association (Salisbury, NY) and helps manage softball, baseball, and basketball leagues.
