Upon graduating from law school, Shannon began a unique and distinguished professional career with the United States Treasury Department as a Secret Service Special Agent, responsible for conducting financial fraud investigations. With a true zeal for financial analysis and a desire to be closely associated with global equity markets, he spent several years working alongside and protecting former U.S. Treasury Secretaries John Snow and Henry "Hank" Paulson. With nearly ten years dedicated government service, Shannon served faithfully and honorably under both the Clinton and Bush presidential administrations. To broaden his financial experience, Shannon worked as a manager for a national retail/commercial banking center, where he was responsible for account management and client acquisition. Joining Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 2012, Shannon has a consistent track record of solving difficult and complex issues.

As a native of Columbia, South Carolina, Shannon began his professional career at the World Trade Center in New York City before eventually relocating to Washington, DC. Returning to New York in 2016, Shannon currently resides in Long Island, NY. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University (Winston-Salem, NC) where he received his Bachelor of Arts and a graduate of the University of South Carolina Law School (Columbia, SC) where he received his Juris Doctorate. In his spare time, Shannon enjoys spending time with family, playing chess, traveling to foreign countries and gourmet cooking. When he is not at work, you may find him attempting to recreate a five-star recipe from the pages of Epicurious, Food Network or Bon Appétit.
