The SRI Group serves a nationwide clientele of successful business owners, senior-level corporate executives, experienced professionals, and non-profit organizations from its offices in New York City and Wilmington, North Carolina. Bringing insights from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management analysts and hedge fund managers directly to clients, the team believes in taking a collaborative approach to investing, through a process it’s honed for decades.

“Growth and dividends are important to us, and to many clients,” Shelly Scherer says. “We aim to preserve and grow clients’ assets over the long term – to reflect a client’s timeline, need for liquidity, comfort with risk, and other preferences.” Using the team’s experience and the due diligence of Merrill, risk-managed portfolios are diversified for each client among stocks, bonds and other asset classes. “I believe clients value our discipline and devotion,” Shelly notes. “By crafting thoughtful strategies for retirement, education funding, wealth transfer and more, we can better position clients for positive outcomes that bring them personal and financial rewards.”

To build effective tax minimization and estate planning strategies, The SRI Group coordinates with clients’ CPAs and attorneys. Access is also provided to Bank of America N.A. for securities-based lending, corporate cash management and other ways to help clients effectively manage their liabilities.

“Clients want financial independence and answers – when can they retire or what passion can they afford to pursue. It’s fulfilling to help clients strategically use wealth, to enjoy a desired lifestyle or leave a meaningful legacy,” Wilgene Cheng explains. “We help manage clients’ assets and their expectations.
