Robert Schiano employs a disciplined, relationship-based approach to wealth management. His clients include individuals, families and corporate executives who turn to Robert as a trusted advisor who always works in their best interests. Robert’s client relationships are built on a commitment to being personally available to clients to help them and their families with a full range of financial concerns and questions. He utilizes the full range of investment resources made available by Merrill and the banking capabalities of Bank of America to provide clients with a wide range of wealth management services and works with clients’ attorneys and CPAs to integrate all aspects of their financial lives.
Robert begins each new relationship with a thorough information gathering and risk assessment initiative that enables him to understand what is important to that client. He examines their goals, financial dynamics, risk tolerances and time horizons and then works with them to develop personalized strategies that address their specific goals. In his work with retirees or those about to retire, he helps them create detailed strategies that address issues such as 401(k) distributions, income planning and legacy planning. With a client’s needs and expectations clearly defined, he works to implement the strategy on the client’s behalf and periodically conducts reviews to make sure that it is still aligned with the client’s evolving needs and objectives.
Robert joined the Merrill Lynch Wealth Management family in 2000. He participates in the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life fundraising event and enjoys skiing and fishing in his spare time. A New Jersey native, Robert is an avid Giants and Yankees fan. He lives in Mountainside, NJ with his wife, Candice, their son, Nicholas, and daughter Sophia.
*You have choices for what to do with your 401(k) or other type of plan-sponsored accounts. Depending on your financial circumstances, needs and goals, you may choose to rollover to an IRA or convert to a Roth IRA, rollover a 401(k) from a prior employer to a 401(k) at your new employer, take a distribution, or leave the account where it is. Each choice may offer different investment options and services, fees and expenses, withdrawal options, required minimum distributions, tax treatment, and provide different protection from creditors and legal judgments. These are complex choices and should be considered with care.
I follow the deep-seated Merrill tradition of participating in the communities we serve. This drives my interest in spending time volunteering with organizations in our community.
My mission, first and foremost, is to understand you and what matters most to you. Armed with that information I can ask thoughtful questions -- listening carefully, then understanding in detail where your wealth stands today and where you'd like it to be tomorrow. I help you design and implement a personalized plan intended to help you and your family pursue financial goals while helping manage investment risk. My approach is to focus on potential solutions that can help turn goals into reality.
