My mission is to delight clients by helping them leverage time and resources in pursuit of life and legacy goals. I draw inspiration from my Colonial era ancestors who left a legacy of love, kinship and hard work, as I describe in Estate Planning Wisdom.
Profile

Proud of those he serves and the manner in which he serves them, Glenn provide nuanced insights and ongoing value to clients – often in ways they never experienced in a previous advisory relationship.

Today, Glenn assists corporate executives in pharmaceutical, technology and real estate firms (some transitioning to entrepreneurship), business owners (some exploring a sale or recapitalization), attorneys, medical professionals, widows, members of the LGBTQ community, and generations of extended families residing in more than 20 states.

While clients are diverse in their paths to success and his door, Glenn recognizes that each client’s life and wealth have purpose. Accordingly, his highly personalized planning-based approach drives each financial strategy – regardless of its complexity. In cultivating relationships with clients, Glenn looks at what they wish to accomplish, where they stand and what stands in their way (real or perceived).

Doing his best work for well-educated clients interested in engaging with a trusted advisor whose strategies they deem sensible, Glenn feels joy in what clients achieve for themselves, their families, and communities. He also feels privileged when clients turn to him at times of difficulty – the loss of a spouse, illness, or a change of career. Oftentimes, he has assisted widows following the death of their husband – coordinating with their attorneys to organize paperwork and suggesting “next steps” in moving forward.

With rewarding retirement lifestyles and meaningful legacies the primary goals of clients, Glenn shows them how to think strategically about accumulating, structuring and transferring wealth. Making recommendations that are well grounded and supported with straightforward explanations, Glenn satisfies clients who want to know enough to feel comfortable.

“I try to provide appropriate and timely information that indicates clients’ goals are being met,” Glenn says. “Before building their portfolios, I review the long-term performance of top-tier managers, and use Merrill research and due diligence. Depending on a client’s risk tolerance, timeline, liquidity needs and personal preferences, I incorporate various asset classes and may include alternative investments* for exposure to commercial real estate, to help increase income and moderate risk.”

Glenn also gives access to Bank of America, N.A. for residential and securities-based lending. In addition, he coordinates with clients’ CPAs and attorneys to align tax-minimization and estate planning strategies.

Before joining Merrill, Glenn held senior corporate development and strategy positions at leading Fortune 500 corporations. He also served as a mezzanine lender to privately held middle market businesses, oftentimes providing capital in connection with a plan of recapitalization or change in control transaction.

A lifetime learner, Glenn holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s degree from Amherst College. He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, CFP® certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, CRPCTM designation through the College for Financial Planning Institutes Corp, and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor® designation, CPFATM awarded by the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA). The CPFATM designation allows Glenn to serve as a fiduciary for several employer plans of business owners. Additionally, he is an Advisory Member of the Association of African American Financial Advisors.

Passionate about the power of education to transform lives, Glenn serves as Trustee of The Kappa Guide Right & Scholarship Fund of Montclair, New Jersey (which supports the leadership development efforts of the Kappa League, a national service initiative of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and provides annual college scholarships to deserving local high school seniors). He also serves as pro bono consultant to nonprofit organizations engaged in arts and education an as an active participant in the Harvard Business School Club of New York Community Partners Initiative. Glenn is a former Board Trustee of Philips Education Partners and The Scholarship Fund for Inner City Children, Newark. A cycling enthusiast, Glenn resides in Livingston, New Jersey with his teenage daughter and their dog.
