Given the complexity of today’s financial services products, everyone needs a highly skilled, experienced, and empathic financial professional as a guide. I believe a trusted adviser should give clients the sense of comfort that their financial resources are on track as part of a plan to achieve a personally meaningful goal. And a trusted adviser has an on-going responsibility to serve and put a client’s interest first.
As a Merrill Wealth Management Advisor, I use our Goals-Based Wealth Management process as a focused and consistent way to define a plan of action and implement smart, effective strategies for my clients. The first step in the process is careful listening and thoroughly understanding my client’s needs and goals. Each of my clients is unique and my advice and services are personally tailored to each client. Tracking and reassessment are crucial final steps in the Goals-Based Wealth Management process. As my client’s lives and the markets change, I help them make adjustments to their plan. I am committed to providing attentive and personalized advice and client service. My goal is have a long term relationship with my clients as that trusted adviser.
I offer both the intimacy and personalized attention of a wealth management boutique and the state of the art resources of one of the world’s largest financial services firms. I work closely with my many internal partners at Bank of America and Merrill in creating and implementing programs that build and preserve wealth and generate income.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, I had more than 25 years of investment management experience as a fixed income portfolio manager for mutual funds, corporate and union pension plans, endowments, insurance companies, and wealthy individuals. I joined Merrill in 2011, the same year that I passed the two-day CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ exam. I am now a CFP® certificant, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.
I have a bachelors degree in engineering and computer science from Princeton University and a MBA in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. I am a member of the Estate Planning Council of Bergen County and, for many years, I was an adjunct instructor of Economics and Finance at Fairleigh Dickinson University and a volunteer income tax preparer at The Food Bank of New York City. I do not provide legal or tax advice in my role as a Financial Advisor at Merrill. I live in Fort Lee, NJ and my children and grandchildren live in Boston and New York City.
*Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and CFP® in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP® Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
My mission, first and foremost, is to understand you and what matters most to you. Armed with that information I can ask thoughtful questions -- listening carefully, then understanding in detail where your wealth stands today and where you'd like it to be tomorrow. I help you design and implement a personalized plan intended to help you and your family pursue financial goals while helping manage investment risk. My approach is to focus on potential solutions that can help turn goals into reality.
