Maria has over 20 years experience in the financial industry in her previous roles as a senior investment banker and public finance professional at Citigroup in New York and later as co-founder of an advisory firm. She has also served as CFO and advisor to a number of enterprises and has considerable international finance and business background, having worked and traveled extensively in emerging markets. With her experience in real estate and municipal banking, Maria has a strong grasp of environmentally and socially responsible investing and development and non-profit finance. She centers her practice around businesses, institutions and non-profit entities that can benefit from the full suite of corporate and personal investment, retirement, liquidity management, insurance and lending solutions resident within the market leading Bank of America platform. Maria also works with individual investors in all walks of life helping them achieve their personal financial goals with a holistic approach to their lending, risk management and investment needs, so they can confidently plan for their and their loved ones' future. She holds a Master’s degree in International Finance and Business from Columbia University in New York City, is an avid traveler and maintains a nationwide advisory practice.

Impact investing and/or Environmental Social Governance (ESG) investing has certain risks based on the fact that ESG criteria excludes securities of certain issuers for nonfinancial reasons and therefore, investors may forgo some market opportunities and the universe of investments available will be smaller. Maria follows the deep-seated Merrill tradition of participating in the communities we serve. This drives her interest in working with non-profit agencies in the community based on her considerable experience in this area.
