Donald Huneycutt

I began my career in the financial services industry over 20 years ago. My career with Merrill began in 2005 where I helped my valued clients with their financial needs through 2011 until moving to another firm, then finally returning to Merrill in 2022, helping my clients with their investment and financial needs, supported by Merrill specialists and top-rated research.

Before joining the financial services industry, I worked as an engineer and technical manager for almost 20 years. I worked in the areas of precision bearing manufacturing, industrial lighting and industrial controls as a project and program manager. My last assignment in engineering before departing to financial services was as Manager of Operational Excellence, focused on statistical problem-solving, improving processes, reducing costs and championing the overall pursuit of excellence, applicable to most organizations.

My wife, Julie Huneycutt, and I reside in Hendersonville and have lived in the area for over 35 years and are active members in the community. We have 4 children. Julie is Executive Director of Hope Coalition, a non-profit helping our community address substance use disorders. Julie and I are co-founders of Anna's Hope at the Community Foundation of Henderson County, another organization helping our community address and mitigate substance use disorders. We are members of Grace Blue Ridge Church where I have served as an elder and Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance committee in the past.

I am a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Hendersonville where I have served in the past on the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Environmental Committee, Club Coordinator for Adopt-a-Stream and Big Sweep stream clean-up, and as Chairman of the Rotary Foundation International. One of my passions is cold water conservation and fly-fishing. I’m a long-time member of Pisgah Chapter of Trout Unlimited where I have served on the Board of Directors and as Director of Corporate Outreach. I am a member of MountainTrue, where I have served in the past as the Henderson County Coordinator for Big Sweep, the annual national stream and waterway clean-up event.

I follow the deep-seated Merrill tradition of participating in the communities we serve. This drives my interest in spending time volunteering with organizations in our community.
