Among those who’ve worked with Cindy Clark and Chris Combs for years is a highly motivated clientele – including active and retired business owners, senior biotech and technology executives, and university faculty and administrators.

“Rather than being extravagant, most clients are intrigued by what wealth can mean to people and passions in their lives,” Cindy Clark explains. “Treating clients like family, we look at implications that affect each family member – blending asset management with wealth transfer and gifting strategies, as well as helping with liability management and insurance planning for life, disability and long-term care. We also examine trust documents, beneficiaries, and clients’ tax returns to help them see income and where it’s going.”

Engaging both spouses whenever possible, the team asks questions that provoke discussions. “What do you enjoy? What do you see when you retire? Tell me about your children and grandchildren.” Strategic relationships are nurtured with clients’ CPAs and attorneys, to create a solid blueprint for superior wealth management.

The Clark-Combs Group uses BofA Global Research and third-party research to formulate each client’s portfolio with a focus on diversification across asset classes, to help mitigate risk. Over time, converting growth-oriented investments to reliable streams of income can be a priority, as is helping clients develop a wise strategy for taking Social Security. More than once, Chris Combs has accompanied clients to their local Social Security office to help confirm benefits before implementation.

“When confronted with financial situations, we want to be clients’ first call, to help them avoid emotional decisions,” Chris adds. “We also want to share important moments with them – whether it’s the pride of a business owner, the concern of a widow, or the hope of a new parent.”
