"Care and curiosity” inspire Michael’s efforts. He enjoys getting to know clients, what’s on their minds and in their hearts. Michael’s goal in each relationship is to help ensure that a client’s multi-pronged strategy reflects their financial, professional and personal objectives for the long and short-term.
In addition to serving active and retired business owners and accountants, Michael works closely with a growing number of younger physicians whose financial challenges and opportunities have increased as dramatically as their income. Helping them understand gaps in their thought process and missing pieces that can solidify their wealth, Michael finds it particularly fulfilling to help them manage growth and assets while establishing a strong financial footing and mindset.
On behalf of many clients, Michael also assists with 401k and other defined benefit plans – meeting with participants to educate on investment choices and better money habits.
Highly motivated and highly credentialed, Michael holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst®, CIMA® designation awarded by the Investments & Wealth Institute™ and the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorTM designation through the College for Financial Planning Institutes Corp. Given his experience and rigorous training, Michael is able to provide clients with wealth planning, investment management and access to private banking services.
“I enjoy conversations where something clicks for clients – where they find clarity amid the complexity of their financial circumstances. Getting to appreciate a client’s visions and values is quite fulfilling. Beyond the bottom line, I remind clients that part of our job is helping them leave memories, not just money – finding joy along the way without compromising their long-term financial goals,” Michael explains.
Prior to joining Merrill in 2019, Michael spent more than a decade in the industry – at a large St. Louis-based financial advisory company on its trading floor as an options trader and at a St. Louis-based discount brokerage firm as an equity and option trading analyst.
Michael was born and raised in Saint Louis and graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Banking. Michael and his wife, Ashley, are raising their two daughters in Webster Groves. Outside of work, Michael is a real estate investor and enjoys fitness, family and the great outdoors. He is actively involved with the Alzheimer’s Association and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
