Melissa joined Merrill in 2007 after 12 years with the Guam Economic Development Authority, an agency that supports local business endeavors through government offerings. Her diverse business experience includes working for an engineering firm and helping her husband start an environmental services company. As a Senior Financial Advisor, she works with business owners, entrepreneurs, and families extending to four generations. 

Melissa emphasizes financial education. She encourages clients to focus on future financial needs, such as funding children’s college educations or caring for elderly parents. Then, she helps them create investment approaches aimed at pursuing their goals while preserving the wealth they have worked hard to acquire. She can provide access to the investment insights of Merrill and banking convenience of Bank of America to help them address multiple aspects of their financial lives.

With deep roots in Guam, Melissa is sensitive to traditions that can make it difficult for families to talk about financial matters. She strives to be a good listener who also understands the unspoken. Her compassion and empathy stem from facing many of the same situations as her clients, including years of caretaking for family members.

 Melissa and her family are committed to their community. For many years they have supported the annual St. Fidelis Friary Christmas Village. Melissa is also helping to organize a mission to bring medical personnel and supplies to a neighboring island without a hospital.
