Before joining Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 2015, Robert spent 20 years being educated at what he calls “Wall Street University” – working for Goldman Sachs and RBC Capital Markets. At these firms, Robert “battled in the trenches” of equity trading floors, honing his problem-solving skills and developing a first-hand understanding of how the markets work.
Today, Robert assists a successful clientele that can benefit from his rich experience, extensive financial knowledge, and ability to help optimize their wealth in ways they find meaningful. His clients include financially astute individuals, as well as those not as well-versed – fellow financial professionals, active and retired business owners, corporate executives, physicians, attorneys and generations of their families in Florida, New York, New Jersey and ten other states.
Robert also serves a growing circle of divorced and widowed women. This is due in large part to his early life. Robert’s father passed away in 1991 and Robert’s mother was unable to find a trustworthy advisor who would suggest suitable investments. Recognizing that women who experience difficult life transitions may require an extra measure of care and objective guidance, Robert goes out of his way to explain how these clients can take “simple steps” and regain their financial footing.
Having a front-row seat on Wall Street to decades of market volatility and resilience, Robert reminds clients that “staying in the market and sticking with a disciplined strategy” is critical to achieving positive, long-term outcomes. He is also a strong proponent of clients having a single advisor who can consolidate their assets and deploy them in the most cost-efficient and tax-efficient manner.
Robert has a natural affinity for educating clients – especially when complex strategies demand straightforward explanations without industry jargon. In client discussions, he is proud to be transparent and proactive. Seeking ways to help clients use debt wisely, for example, he can provide access to residential, securities-based, marine and real estate lending through Bank of America, N.A. When helpful, he also coordinates with clients’ CPAs and attorneys to align tax-minimization and estate planning strategies. He leverages the resources and intellectual capital of both Bank of America and Merrill to assist his clients and their families in creating personalized financial solutions based upon their risk tolerance, time horizon, liquidity needs, overall investment goals and the associated costs. His process entails a disciplined approach to help small-to-middle market business owners with sell-side advisory solutions and post-sale wealth planning.
Robert has earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™, CRPC™ designation, the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®, CDFA® certification, the Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®), and the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) designations. He helps business owners who are going through transitional phases in their lives.
Originally from the New York/New Jersey area, Robert lives in Palm City with his wife, Corinne, and their son Brendan and daughter Brooke. In addition to family time, Robert is passionate about playing pickleball, golf, and giving back to the community. He serves on the advisory board and is chair for the Boys & Girls Club of Martin County Character Counts! (a collaborative of community organizations, schools, businesses and individual citizens committed to the development and enhancement of individual and community character).
