Justin Wasfy

Justin joined Merrill on a full-time basis in 2006 after interning at Merrill during college.

Passionate about knowing clients exceedingly well, Justin is devoted to connecting the dots in clients’ lives to strategies that create enduring results for generations of their families. He relishes the opportunity to serve fascinating people and get to know their families. Engaging clients in thoughtful conversations is emblematic of Justin’s discovery process – one in which he seeks to account for clients’ mindsets and motivations.

“Our clients depend on us in several ways,” Justin says. “First, to gain a solid understanding of their lives, personalities, concerns and goals. Second, to build a multi-faceted strategy that reflects who they are and what they want to achieve. Third, to provide steady, focused attention to changes in their situations. Doing all this earns us a high degree of trust and appreciation that I find particularly fulfilling.”

Justin’s interest in finance began in ninth grade, when he was assigned a project that required him to select a stock, learn about the company, and follow it for the rest of the year. After working the following summer, he saved enough to buy a few shares. He’s been a student of the markets ever since.

Justin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Trinity College in Connecticut, where he was a three-year member of its wrestling team.
A longtime volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Justin currently serves as an alumni board member of his high school, coaches various youth lacrosse teams, and holds an annual financial literacy seminar at a local high school. He lives in Great Falls, Virginia with his wife, Monica, their two children and one dog. A longtime fan of The Washington Commanders, Justin also enjoys cooking and traveling with his family.
