Bill is a highly accomplished and credentialed professional, who builds on more than 25 years’ experience and the principle of “client first.” Many of those clients are business owners and real estate developers who share Bill’s entrepreneurial spirit. He also serves lobbyists, consultants at prominent firms, and some of the nation’s leading endowments and foundations. A former business owner, Bill has long been fascinated with the mechanics of business, specific industries, and economics. He relishes the opportunity to learn from clients, exchange ideas, and provide thoughtful guidance that addresses their evolving circumstances. While his clients are financially astute, Bill makes it a point to educate at every opportunity. More than happy to explain (without fancy jargon) the movement of a stock, for example, to clients and their children, Bill finds tremendous value in “teachable moments” where investment strategies can be understood and appreciated. “It is so gratifying to make an impact on the lives of interesting people and the people they love,” Bill says. “I believe we’ve earned our stripes by being consistent, disciplined and devoted to meeting clients’ needs – especially as they grow in complexity and urgency.” Always good with numbers – and inspired by his father who was a devoted viewer of Wall Street Week – Bill began investing as a boy with a thirst for knowledge and desire to run a business. During college and afterwards, he ran a house painting business that employed 15 people and gave him insights into the challenges facing business owners. A lifetime learner, Bill holds the following designations: • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation. • Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation. • Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™™ (CRPC®) designation. • Retirement Accredited Financial Advisor (RAFA) designation. • Global Institutional Consultant designation. Bill and his wife, Ann, (who’ve known each other since elementary school) are lifelong Northern Virginians and active members of their Arlington community – as parents, coaches, volunteers and supporters of organizations including Arlington Free Clinic, Alzheimer’s Association, and American Association for Suicide Prevention. Bill has also been an ardent supporter of Special Olympics as a donor and track-and-field coach. Bill and Ann have three children – one attending Clemson University, one at Elon University, and one in high school.
