James Shaw
James graduated from Northeastern University in 2023 with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. He was a Financial Analyst at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) before joining Merrill Lynch Wealth Management as a Financial Advisor in March, 2025. James focuses on retirement and estate planning strategies with a focus on tax-efficient strategies to exit concentrated stock positions, restricted stock positions, and highly appreciated real estate.
James lives in San Mateo with his girlfriend, Isabella. Outside of work, he enjoys driving, working on cars, playing music, and fishing. James founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2024 to host sports car rallies on California's scenic roads, and all proceeds go to the Loeys-Dietz Syndrome Foundation. He also plays guitar, keyboard, and trombone in a rock band he started with some Merrill Lynch Wealth Management coworkers.
