Jenny Yun Hunter

Jenny Yun Hunter is a First Vice President, a Senior Financial Advisor, and a co-founder of Chang Hunter and Associates at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Jenny works closely with businesses, organizations, and institutions to build roadmaps designed to guide people to—and through—a dignified retirement. With more than 20 years of direct experience in retirement planning, strategy, investments, and education, Jenny offers a perspective that she feels is difficult to replicate. This work, which she calls her “life passion,” allows her to have a profound impact on the clients she advises. “I discovered the greatest gift I can give is through education,” she notes, “helping employers and employees find a confidence through their unexplored journey to retirement.”

Jenny feels that employers appreciate her ability to save them time in optimizing their retirement plans, particularly her knowledge of tax-sensitive strategies designed to yield significant savings. Her areas of focus include 401(k), 403(b), and defined benefit plans. Generous with her time, Jenny is committed to enhancing employee education, underscoring the importance of regular saving and investing.   Jenny earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee System. Eager to bring clients a different echelon of advice, she holds the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist™ designation, the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor® designation, and the Certified 401(k) Professional designation. Within Merrill, she is also a Retirement Benefits Consultant. Proud to support an inclusive environment at work, she is a Bank of America Ally within the LGBTQ+ Pride Network. In her free hours, Jenny loves to travel around the world with her husband, seeking new experiences and cultures. They love to scuba dive, play golf, and do some catch-and-release sport fishing. An avid hiker, Jenny has explored a range of majestic heights with colleagues and friends: Machu Picchu, Mount Kilimanjaro, Grand Canyon, and Everest Base Camp, among others. She is always happy to trade ideas about these adventures and plan her next destination.
